Knowing the character.

I found an ideal audio clip to use for this week. Aside from listening to the audio repeatedly to memorize the lines, I have also been trying to understand the character behind it.

I started to give the character a back story and understand his motive. Knowing my character will help me consider his body language which will allow me to create a more genuine performance. I created reference footage--but I think I need more to work with.

This is short post--but more to come!

Cheers!

The last week.

I'm finally hitting my last week of my "personal challenge." These past few days I have been preparing for an interview, so I didn't get a chance to keep up with my posts!

My two character interaction scene is still in the blocking stage but I need to move on with my "schedule" and start my performance animation.

This week I am going to focus solely on a lip sync and today I have spent my time looking for audio clips and brainstorming ideas. I will be bringing everything I learned all together! I will admit, any problem I encountered that was not technical related always went back to not being 100% prepared. Aside from having solid reference, proper preparation is also fully blocking out poses and making sure the motion is broken down. This is the hard work that takes place in the beginning, but will pay off in the end.

I still need to keep breaking some bad habits so this time I will create a checklist while I prepare my scene before animating. Hopefully there will be better results!
